Mary Ann Finn (1858-1885) was a migrant from Wales to the United States in 1873. She worked as a housekeeper while in the United States. (b. Parents:
Mary was the daughter of Daniel Finn (1818-1887) and Catherine Creedon (1834-1914) of Millstreet, County Cork, Ireland. Daniel and Catherine moved to Cardiff in Wales and their children were born there.

Birth:
She was born on July 18, 1858 at 21 Victoria Street in Cardiff, Glamorgan, Wales in the United Kingdom as "Mary Ann Finn". In the birth register her name is written as "Mary Ann", the daughter of "Daniel Fien" and Catherine Creden". Her mother could not read or write and signed the birth register with an "X". Her father was working as a "mason's labourer", most likely carrying bricks.

Siblings:
Mary's siblings include: Nora M. Finn (1866-1898) who was born in Wales and married John Joseph Burke I (1868-1939) in the USA; and Catherine Elizabeth Finn (1873-1918) aka Kate Finn, who was born in Wales and worked as a housekeeper and later a secretary at a pencil company and she never married.

United States:
The family was living in Cardiff, Wales during the 1871 census. In 1873 Daniel Finn and Mary Creedon moved the family to the United States.

Housekeeper:
A "Mary Finn" appear on the 1880 US census working as a housekeeper for James B. Hance, who was a produce store owner in Jersey City, New Jersey. James Hance lived at 323 Varick Street. This Mary Finn is listed as born in England instead of Wales. There is also a "Mary A. Finn" born in New Jersey, age 23, also working as a servant in Jersey City.

Death:
Mary died from pneumonia on August 31, 1885 at 276 1st Street in Jersey City, Hudson County, New Jersey.

Burial:
She was buried on September 2, 1885 in Holy Name Cemetery in a plot bought for her death. Later her parents and siblings would be buried in the same plot. Holy Name Cemetery in Jersey City, New Jersey in grave 21, section K, block S.

Estate:
Mary Finn died without a will and the HUdson County Surrogate Court awarded the estate to her mother on November 14, 1885.
