Dorothy A. Megaard, 94, passed away Monday, Dec. 20, 1999, at Gallatin Rest Home in Bozeman. She was born Feb. 22, 1905, in Deshler, Ohio, to Frank and Ella (Watson) Knoke. She was raised in the Big Timber area.
She married Andrew Megaard in Springdale on May 5, 1928, and the couple resided in the Bozeman-Belgrade area. She was a member of the Belgrade Senior Center and the Sweet Pea Rebecca Lodge.
She is survived by her daughter, Randi Megaard Simpson of Belgrade; sons and daughters-in-law, Wilbur A. and Fawn Megaard, and Melvin A. and Mary Megaard, all of Missoula; grandchildren: Mark and Ty Simpson of Belgrade, Kristi (Simpson) and Jerry Hespen of Belgrade, Cindy Whitecotton of Billings, Allen Megaard of Billings, Gail (Megaard) Baker of Missoula, Steve Megaard of Missoula, Kenny Megaard of Oregon, Greg Megaard of Bozeman, Melody (Megaard) Weaver of California; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; her twin sister; her husband, Andrew, in 1980; one granddaughter; and one grandson.
She was a loving mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed.
