Mrs. Silvia Hodge, wife of Charles D. Hodge, who was badly burned when her clothes caught fire as she struck a match Monday afternoon at the Arnett-Millin ranch near Manhattan, died Thursday morning at 10 o'clock at the Deaconess Hospital, where she was brought Monday night and had been under special care. Everything possible was done for the unfortunate woman, and she made a brave fight for life, but she finally succumbed.

Mrs. Hodge was Miss Silvia Raffety, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Raffety of Manhattan. She was born in Kentucky, February 14, 1902, and was married in September, 1924 to Charles D. Hodge, who survives her, as do her parents, six sisters and five brothers, all of Manhattan.

Mr. and Mrs. Hodge were living on the Arnett-Millin ranch and were esteemed most highly by the owners of the ranch. Before her marriage Mrs. Hodge spent some time in Bozeman, being employed at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Amos G. Hall. Mr. and Mrs. Arnett went to the ranch as soon as they heard of the accident and assisted in giving the unfortunate woman necessary care and in bringing her to the hospital. Her husband and her parents have been in the city and have been with her much of the time at the hospital.

Arrangements for the funeral have not been completed, but the time and place will be announced later.
