OBIT. - Clara Mahaffey, age 100, of Shelbyville, MO, passed away on Tuesday, January 29, 2013, at Loch Haven Nursing home in Macon, MO. She was born August 17, 1912, in West Plains, MO, the daughter of Henry J. and Francis E. Denton Nolte. On October 30, 1925, she was united in marriage to Randall William Mahaffey. He preceded her in death on August 24, 1972.Clara is survived by eleven children, Herbert Randall Mahaffey of Shelbyville, MO, Joseph William Mahaffey of Shelbyville, MO, Daisy Maxine Ballard of Ogallalla, NE, Harold Glenn Mahaffey of Shelbyville, MO, Winnifred Alberta Grable of Clinton, MO, Evelyn Deloris Brown of Macon, MO, Clifford Paul Mahaffey of Shelbyville, MO, James Fredrick Mahaffey of Conroe, TX, Teddy Lee Mahaffey of Shelbyville, MO, Danny Kay Mahaffey of Shelbyville, MO and Francis Estella Stewart of Olathe, KS; many grandchildren; lots and lots of great-grandchildren and one brother, Harold Nolte of Gardner, KS. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sons, John Edwin and Kenneth Mahaffey and two sisters, Ruby Rawie and Lorretta Masuch.Clara was a Baptist by faith. She enjoyed crocheting, embroidering and sending cards. Her greatest love was her family and she enjoyed the time she spent with them and taking care of them. Funeral services will be held at the Greening-Eagan-Hayes Funeral Home in Shelbina, MO on Saturday, February 2, 2013, at 11:00 am with burial to follow in Shelby Memorial Cemetery in Shelbyville, MO. Visitation will be held at the Funeral Home in Shelbina on Saturday from 9:00 to 11:00 am. Memorials may be made to the Shelbyville Baptist Church or the Alzheimer's Association.
