Oliver come to Hendricks county Indiana when 9 years of age with his parents Joseph Kennedy and Caroline Etnay Spencer Kennedy. Belonging to the Society of Friends at the Springfield MM in High Point NC. Joseph the father of our subject along with his Twin brother Emanuel Enlisted in April 1862 in Co B 45th NC Infantry Civil War. In the Spring of 1865 Oliver and younger brother Julius were playing in the Sand pile at there home when a Soldier appeared by the house and said "Go ahead and Play Boys" Little did they know that the soldier was General Joe Johnston who was surendering to the Northern Army. In 1869 Oliver along with parents and grandparents come to Plainfield Indiana near the Quaker settlement and later to Morgan county in Emminence. Oliver married Febuary 24 1884 to Surilda Frances Stuart and they were theparents of 6 known children. Mary, Myrtle, Eva, Geraldine, Beula, and Carl. Oliver was a businessman and builder and remained in Danville Indiana on N. Tennessee Street his remaining days.
