Gospel Singer, Minister. He started singing at age 14 and continued until age 82. Red Budd Holy Church was his base and the world was his stage to spread the gospel message in songs. From coast to coast the song most requested of Barnes still gets a great deal of airtime. "Rough Side Of The Mountain" was just one of many songs he recorded. However, this duet with Rev. Janice Brown sold over 500,000 copies. Bishop Barnes And Company released their latest album in 2010 titled "The Old Time Way", receiving a Stellar Award nomination. He also received a Dove Award nomination as well in recent years. He remained with his orginial recording company Atlanta International Records which is a subsidary of The Malaco Music Group. He was favored with the popularity of the likes of Rev. James Cleveland, Rev. C.L. Franklin and Thomas Dorsey. As he performed sold out concert halls in major cities and small towns. In 2005 he was inducted into The International Gospel Music Hall Of Fame In Detroit, Michigan and the American Gospel Quartet Convention Hall Of Fame in Birmingham, Alabama.
