COURIER JOURNAL OBITUARY - 01/07/1952
MATTINGLY - Mrs. Edna Mary (nee Mattingly), passed away in her 66th year, Sunday, January 6, 1952, at 6 a.m., in St. Anthony's Hospital. Family residence, 851 Clarks Lane. Beloved wife of Mr. J. Raymond Mattingly; loving mother of Mrs. Marie Macey, Mrs. McElroy (Therese) Farmer, Messrs. Elbert, Milton & Earl Mattingly; also survived by her brother, Mr. Archey Mattingly of Evansville, IN; 20 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Services for Mrs. Mattingly will be held in the Arch L. Heady Funeral Home, 1201 E. Oak St. at Schiller Ave., Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. and in Our Mother of Sorrows Church at 9 o'clock. Interment in Calvary Cemetery. The members of the Altar Society are kindly requested to meet in the funeral home Tuesday evening at 7:30 p.m. to pray the rosary.

MRS. RAYMOND MATTINGLY, 65, FORMER COUNTY RESIDENT, DIES
Mrs. Edna Mary Mattingly, 65, wife of J. Raymond Mattingly of Louisville, died on Sunday, June 6, [1952] at St. Anthony’s Hospital there. Mrs. Mattingly, who was a Miss Mattingly before her marriage, was born and reared in this county, a daughter of Dan & Lizzie Bean Mattingly, long deceased, and attended school at St. Charles. She had made her home in Louisville for the past twenty-five years. Survivors, besides her husband, include two daughters, Mrs. Marie Macey and Mrs. Elroy Farmer; and three sons, Elbert, Milton & Earl Mattingly; also one brother, Archey Mattingly of Evansville, IN, twenty grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was a cousin of Louis Mattingly of Loretto, and Mrs. Lum Abell, Joe Lee & Arthur Mattingly of Lebanon. Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at Our Mother of Sorrows Church. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery, Louisville.
