GEORGE HAMILTON DEAD - GEO. A. HAMILTON, 81 years old, a well known farmer and one of the oldest citizens of the county, died Monday morning at his home on the Barbour's Mill pike four miles east of town, following a five weeks illness of a complication of diseases. His condition had been grave for several days past, although on Sunday he seemed greatly improved and conversed with friends who called to see him. Monday morning he suffered a relapse, dying at 11 o'clock. Mr. Hamilton was a native and lifelong resident of the county, and had been twice married. His second wife was Miss Elizabeth Mattingly of this county, who, with one daughter by his former marriage, Mrs. Elizabeth Buedell, of Covington, survives. Two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Wheatley and Mrs. Rose Mackin, of this city, also survive. The funeral services were held at St. Augustine's church Wednesday morning and were conducted by Rev. J. A. Hogarty during a requiem high mass. The burial was in St. Augustine's Cemetery.
