Deceased Name: Michael Appleton

John Michael ''Mike'' Appleton, 76, a native and lifelong resident of Pasadena, died of heart failure May 20 at North Arundel Hospital after a long illness.

Mr. Appleton was born July 7, 1925, and served in the Marine Corps during World War II in the Pacific theater of operations.

He was a letter carrier for the Postal Service in the Pasadena area before retiring.

He was a member of the Severna Park Elks Lodge, a Masonic Lodge, the Scottish Rite and Boumi Temple and American Legion Post 175 in Severna Park. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

His wife, Elizabeth Lillian Listman Appleton, died in 1974.
Surviving are one son, John M. Appleton III of Pasadena; two granddaughters; and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation is from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. today and tomorrow at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway, where services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Glen Haven Cemetery in Glen Burnie.
