Mr. Cletus Butler Appleton, 85, died Feb. 1, 2008, at Hillside Hospital.
A native of Giles County, Mr. Appleton was a retired masonry worker and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert David and Myrtle Modene Mathis Appleton; one daughter, Evelyn Campbell Adams; three brothers, Robert York Appleton, Mackie Lee Appleton and Rufus Appleton; and two sisters, Maudie Sharp and Christine Hyatt.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 3, at Carr and Erwin Funeral Home. Burial was in Mt. Moriah Cemetery.
Survivors include one sister, Lillian Hutton of Pulaski; three grandchildren, Yogi Milsap, Michael Campbell, Lake Campbell; and six great-grandchildren.
