JERRY V. CERES III of COLTS NECK, died Friday in Colts Neck. He was a senior at Christian Brothers Academy in Lincroft, Middletown, where he was a member of the production crew and president of the Science Fiction Club.

He earned the highest honor, the Eagle Scout Award, and held vigil honor within the Order of the Arrow. He was president of the Youth Officers Association, and president of EMS Explorers Post 367 of Middletown. He attended the Ranney School of Tinton Falls.

Born in Long Branch, he lived in Colts Neck.

He was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, William Hotchkiss, in 1999. Surviving are his parents, Jerry and Bonnie Ceres Jr.; a brother, Brian "BC" at home; paternal grandparents, Gerald and Rita Ceres of Holmdel; and maternal grandmother, Zita Hotchkiss.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 S. Holmdel Road, Holmdel. A funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday at Colts Neck Reformed Church, Colts Neck. Interment will be at Atlantic Cemetery, Colts Neck. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Monmouth Council Boy Scouts of American, Monmouth Road, Oakhurst, NJ 07755.
