Corrections to the obituary written in "The Belle Plaine News."

Aaron Blankenship son of Cornelius and Belinda Wilkerson Blankenship was born June 12 1871 at Sewellton, Russell, Kentucky and died August 1, 1945 at Wellington, Sumner, Kansas at St. Luke's Hospital of a stroke. Age 74 years, 1 month , 20 days.

Aaron had been talking on the phone to his brother Tom Blankenship who lived south of Belle Plaine when Tom realized Aaron stopped reponding. Tom hung up and called Aaron's neighbor, Thurman Owings and he came across the street to stay with Aaron until Tom arrived. Aaron lived a few days before passing.

Aaron was married to Dola Warriner on 5 December 1907 at Union, Russell, Kentucky. Union Chapel Church. Aaron's second marriage. Aaron and Dola had six children. Sam, Welby, Murlie Pearl, Alfred Hultner, Charles Virgil, and a son born and died 1931 by a c-section who was never named.

Aaron and first wife Martha Roger's were married January 7, 1892, Russell, Kentucky had three children. Chester, one unknown gender or age child except was listed on the 1900 census in Kentucky as not living. Nick Hubert Blankenship. Martha Roger's Blankenship was born 1 July 1869 and died 9 April 1906 of liver cancer at Jefferson County, Kentucky.

According to The Adair County News. Columbia, Adair, Kentucky, Wednesday. Page 8, Mr. Aaron Blankenship and family, Russell county, have moved to Kansas. (His first wife, Martha Rogers Blankenship died, April 9, 1906, so Aaron and her sons, Chester and Hubert were with their father, Aaron on the trip to Belle Plaine, Sumner, Kansas. Other Blankenship, Warriner and Lawless relatives already in that area. Aaron and sons went back to Kentucky shortly where Aaron married Dola Warriner on December 5, 1907.

Four of Aaron's children died in infancy: Unknown Infant with first wife Martha Roger's Blankenship. Three infants of Aaron and Dola Warriner were: Welby, Murlie Pearl and Infant son 1931. Chester another son died February 26, 1920 of a gunshot wound after WWI.

He leaves to mourn his wife Dola; four sons Hubert and Charles of Belle Plaine, Sam with the U.S. Navy and Alfred U.S. Army serving in China. Two brothers John Nick Blankenship and Thomas Alexander of Belle Plaine, a half sister Mrs. Julia Wilkerson Wooldridge of Sewellton, Kentucky, four grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was a kind and indulgent father, and lived a quiet home life. He will be greatly missed by his family, relatives and friends.

Funeral Services were held from the Hatfield Funeral Home, Saturday, August 4, 1945. In charge of the services was Jeff Stafford Pastor of the Church of Christ of this city.
