Mr. James Atkins, who was a brother of the late W. J. Atkins, and who left this country fifty years ago, died in Blairstown, Mo., December 30th. His wife, who survives him, was a Miss Elliott, a sister of the late Cary Elliott. Besides his wife there are nine living children, two dead. Mr. Atkins left a good estate.
[Mrs. Atkins was the former Miss Elizabeth Elliott, the daughter of George and Martha Hughes Elliott. She died in Blairstown, Henry County, Missouri on May 20, 1912; burial in the Elliott Cemetery. Mr. Atkins and Miss Elliott were married on August 28, 1850, in Adair County, Ky.]
