Janet Fleener Bryan Anderson was born on August 29, 1936, in Grinnell, Iowa to Earl and Ruth Saunders Fleener. She was raised in Searsboro and attended public schools there. Following her education she worked at the Poweshiek County Courthouse.
She was married to Charles L. Bryan and to this union was born four sons, Keith, Kyle, Kerry and Kelly. The couple later divorced.
On April 8, 1972, she was married to Richard Anderson in Rock Island, Illinois. The couple lived in Searsboro and she worked as a sales representative for the WENCO Company in Grinnell. She also worked for Bates Flowers and the Mayflower Home in Grinnell.
She was a member of the Grinnell Eagles Lodge and she formerly served on the Searsboro City Council.
Janet enjoyed fishing with her family and friends, bowling, golfing, playing cards, cross word puzzles, bird houses, Emmit Kelly clowns. and traveling throughout to the United States and England.
Survivors include three sons and their spouses, Kyle and Terri Bryan of New Sharon, Kerry and Marlene Bryan of Searsboro and Kelly and Sammi Bryan of Lynnville; seven grandchildren; her step mother, Ann Fleener of Grundy Center; one brother and his spouse Clair and Stacie Fleener of Omaha, Nebraska; her sister-in-law, Janet Fleener of London, England; and two close friends, Debbie and Wanda.
Janet died on Friday, November 26, 2004, at the Comfort House in Pella. She was 68 years of age, and she was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, Keith; and one brother, Jimmy Fleener.

Janet Anderson, 68, of Searsboro, died Friday, Nov. 26, 2004, at Comfort House in Pella.

A funeral was held Monday, Nov 29, at Smith Funeral Home with John Epperson, pastor of Grinnell Christian Church, officiating. Casket bearers were her grandchildren, Brandon, Kasey, Charity, Brooke and Dallas Bryan, Candy Boyd and Crystal and Justin Montgomery. Interment was in Hazelwood Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Comfort House in Pella.
