Michael was born in Butler co Ohio, S/O Lindsey Edward Dorsey and Francina Musgrove Dorsey. His mother passed away when he was 6 yrs old and shortly after his father and Children moved to Ripley Co Indiana. He married To Effie Ann Grove in 1860 Greenwood,Johnson County Indiana. In 1863 Michael moved to Indianapolis and was a Wagon Maker.
