Married Minnie Caroline Bettington in 1889 in Paramatta Dist., New South Wales.

Father of Constance Minnie "Kipper" Busby, Mollie (Busby) Meredith, Jean "Peggy" (Busby) Davis, Alexander Ian "Jack" Busby, and Charles Culzean "Pat" Busby.

Their home, "Culzean", is now Culzean Gardens and is open by appointment. Charles is buried in the garden and is proported to be the only grave at Culzean.
