Why was Harry Theodore nicknamed Tommy? See his mother Leanna's bio for the answer.

Tommy received an engineering degree at Stevens Tech in N.J., and had a long, inventive career as an electrical engineer. Not a dull technical person, however, Tommy was recalled by his niece, Marion Wolfe Steele, as "ebullient" and as "an incurable optimist."

He married Grace Libby "Gay" Frey on May 10, 1941. Their two children were Janet L. ("Jannie") and John S., and they lived in Cleveland, Ohio. Gay died in 1963.

He later married Patricia ("Pat"), who had a son, Phil Gilbert, by a previous marriage.
