OREGON — Mrs. Daisy P. Brown, age
95, of 109 Jefferson Street in Oregon died
on Saturday evening, January 12, 1980,
at the home of a granddaughter, Mrs.
Larry Taylor in Janesvllle after a long
illness. Born on January 18, 1884, In
Butternut, she had lived the past sixteen
years in Oregon. Previous to that, Daisy
Brown had devoted most of her early
years to vaudeville as an actress, many
of these years before the era of "talking
pictures". She was a member of many
traveling roadshows and stock
companies, among them the Tom Brown
Players, Jack Bessie Shows, J. B.
Roltner Players, and the George
Roberson Players, several of which
played the Madison area circuits.
Survivors are two sons, Attorney Tom
C. Brown of Oregon and Ivan W. Brown
of St. Frances; a sister, Mrs. Johanna
Blank of Milwaukee; a brother, C. E.
Whittlinger of Madison; and seven
grandchildren. Graveside funeral
services will be held on Wednesday,
January 16, at 1:30 p.m. at Riverside
Cemetery in Nekoosa. There will be no
