Direct quotation from "One Ladd's Family" by R. K. Ladd. "John Farley, born in 1728 in Chesterfield County, Virginia. He also married a Nancy Blankenship. The two Nancy's could have been cousins, or more probably niece and aunt, and were thought to be daughter and sister of Drewry Blankenship, the famous Indian scout. John Farley was also an Indian scout, along with his brothers, and also fought in the Battle of Point Pleasant on 10 October 1774. He moved to New River Settlement with his brothers in 1775, and after the Revolution he returned to his land on Indian Creek, now in Monroe County, West Virginia, where he probably died. We have no record of his children."
