A lifelong resident of Russell County, Leslie Brown, died Tuesday, October 31, following an illness of several years.

He was born in this county April 19, 1891...thus being 76 years old at his passing.

Immediate survivors include his wife, Mrs. Sarah Hall Brown, and eight children, six sons: William and Ernest Brown of Tennessee, Asa and Bruce Brown of Russell Springs, Chester Brown of Louisville, and Nathan Brown of Lawrence, Massachusetts; two daughters, Mrs. Josephine Nash and Mrs. Edna Mae Wells of New Albany, Indiana.

There are also two brothers, Abe and Willie Brown, both of Jamestown; five sisters, Mrs. Laura Duncan and Mrs. Myrtle Wright, both of Russell Springs, Mrs. Rosa Brumley, Mrs. Clare Weston and Mrs. Nora Burchett, all of Jamestown, 17 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Mr. Brown was a member of the Mt Hope Separate Baptist Church. The services were held there Friday, November 3, at 10 a.m. Ministers were Rev. Roger Popplewell and Rev. Raymond Brown, and special music was led by Rev. Roger and Mrs. Janice Popplewell.

Interment arranged by Rippetoe Funeral Home, was in Rexroat Cemetery.

Bearers were Glen Brown, Farris Hall, Arthur Burchett, Carl Brown, Eddie Brown and Clarence Brown.
