Katie Faye Hall Compton, age 46, 512 East Dixon in Elizabethtown, died Friday , February 22, 1991, in an automobile accident. She was born in Russell County on February 7, 1945 to Irene Johnson Hall and the late Herman Hall. She is survived by her husband, Carl. E. Compton; her mother, Irene Johnson Hall of Jamestown; one daughter, Betty Herman; two sons: George Pickford, Jr., and Edward Wayne Compton; three brothers: Earl Hall of Ohio, Bud Hall of Jamestown, Eddie Wayne Hall of Liberty; eight sisters: Mary DeSpain. of Larue County, Judy Spaw of Green County, Betty Cruse and Wanda Sharp of Casey County, Leddie Herman, Opal Appleby, Alma Cruse and Mable Passmore, all of Russell County; and two grandchildren. The funeral services were held on Monday, Feb. 25, at the Warren F. Toler Funeral Home with burial in the Pleasant Valley Church Cemetery. Rev. Ollie Franklin and Rev. Odell Warren officiated over the service. Pallbearers were James McQueary, Ronald Lee DeSpain, James Benningfield, James Benningfield, William Compton, Steve Compton and Larry Compton.
