Stan was a heck of a nice kid. He and Jodi fell in love at first sight. After leaving his parents house on Christmas day, he and Jodi and a friend of his that was out visiting from N.J. were driving in Stan's little pickup on an icy snow covered mountain road near there when Stan lost control on a curve. The car shot off the road, went airborne hit a tree head on and fell into a ravine below. By some miracle, Jodi, who was riding between Stan and his friend, with her feet up on the dash, was propelled out the tiny rear window. A passing motorist who witnessed the accident, said that Jodi ended up, sitting on the road, in shock. Stan and his friend were still in the pickup and both were deceased.
Stan was just 21 years, 9 months and 14 days old. Funeral services were held at the Lassila's Sierra Chapel in Colfax on Monday, December 31, 1990.
