Eleanor was an interesting little (not so little) kitty cat. My friend TxCyn2 arrived at work one morning and heard the sounds of a kitten meowing, upon investigation she found the sounds were coming from the little kitty under a school building behind a wire mesh covering the vent. She search for an opening with the wire broken and located one and tried to get the kitty to come to that one. Being the stubborn kitty that she was, she was not moving. With the help of the maintenance men at the school they cut the wire and rescued the kitty. She had a good time that as she got to play with the special needs children. Cyn brought her to my house after work. I already had two cats, Lincoln (1990-2008) and Benson (1992 -2004), and did not want another, but she curled up next to me, turned on her motor and I was hooked.

She was a pretty girl with extremely long black and white fur and golden eyes. Her hair was so long that she was unable to groom it all the way on her chest so she often had help from human hands with a pair of scissors.
Elie was a playful girl and entertained herself and others. One of her favorite things to do was to get under the throw rug by the back door and run around the house with her "shawl" draped over her body, which was quite hilarious to the humans. Elie like to chase ice cubes, the refrigerator has an ice and water dispenser on the door, occasionally one ice cube would fall, it did not matter what room she was in she would hear it fall to the floor and she would take off like a bullet and play soccer with her ice cube.

Trying to read the newspaper was a challenge as she would lay on it and was not happy if anybody tried to move it, so if nothing else she taught the home people to be patient. She liked to sit on the window in the sun and watch the outside world.

She was the alpha animal of the house. All the animals gave her great respect. If she was laying in the doorway leading to the water bowl the other animals would go around the house to get to get to the other side to get drink of water. Even the dogs, Maggie (1987-2000) and Stray (1985-1999) walked around her.

She was a big girl with a big heart and a soft meow. See you at "The Rainbow Bridge".

She is greatly missed.
