Martha, or "Nackey," was the daughter of Benjamin Glover and the widow Worley. Her mother's given and maiden names are unknown. Martha married John Conner and they lived in Preston County, VA; Fayette Co., PA: Cass Co, IN; then moved to Davis Co in Iowa in 1848 where they remained. They were the parents of Rachel, Maria, Joseph, Elizabeth, Sarah, Lee, Ann, Amos, Richard, James, Martha, and Mary. Dates for the children not linked below are:

Joseph (A. or T.) Conner, b. 15 Oct 1823, d. 15 Feb 1826
Elizabeth Jane Conner, b. 15 Mar 1825, d. 1839
Ann Conner, b. 24 Dec 1831, d. 12 Mar 1832
James E. Conner, b. 3 Sep 1837, d. 5 Mar 1847
Mary C. Conner, b. 15 Mar 1846, d. 4 Apr 1846

In 1879, Martha applied for a widow's pension based on her husband's service in the War of 1812. Even though John had been granted a bounty land warrant for his service, the pension application was rejected on the grounds "that there is no evidence of soldier's service during the War of 1812." Apparently word of the peace treaty being ratified had not yet reached John's unit when he was drafted into service.
