Peter J. McMahon Sr., 87, of Ronco, Pa., died Sunday, March 18, 2007, in the Uniontown Hospital.

He was born June 1, 1919, in Uniontown, Pa.

He was preceded in death by Mary L. (Cowell) McMahon, his wife of 66 years on October 12, 2005, his parents, Martin and Bessie McCloy McMahon, a daughter, Sandra Kelly and a grandchild, Jeff Ringling.

Surviving are three children: Candace Anderson of Klamath Falls, Oregon, Peter J. McMahon Jr. and wife, Lori of Northport, Florida and John B. McMahon and wife, Cheryl of Ronco, Pa.; brothers: Martin McMahon and wife, Billie of Littleton, Colo., and Robert McMahon of Pittsburgh, Pa.; ten grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

He was a member of All Saints Roman Catholic Church of Masontown, Pa., the Knights of Columbus, Masontown VFW Faith-Gray-McArdle Post 4584, and the American Legion Post 423.

He served his country in World War II in the United States Air Force in Italy as a Nosegunner.

Friends will be received in the BERNARD M. TOWNSEND FUNERAL HOME, 220 South Main Street Masontown, Pa., on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and on Friday until 9:30 a.m., when a prayer service will be held followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m., in All Saints Roman Catholic Church with the Father John Butler as Celebrant. Interment will follow in the Wolf Cemetery Dilliner, Pa., where the Masontown VFW will accord military rites.
