Services for Lillie C. Bode were held at 11 AM Friday, January 22, 1988, at Zion Lutheran Church in Paullina, Iowa. Rev. Charles Kramer officiated. The pallbearers were: Louis Meyer, Reinhold Bode, Jr. Hohbach, Rodney Meyer, Henry Schoof, and Gary Axdahl. "How Great Thou Art" and "I Am Not A Stranger Here" were sung by the congregation. Organist: was Verla Hibbing. Dennis and Marlis Magnussen and Wendell and Beverly Tjossem were in charge of the flowers. The Prairie View Cemetery, Paullina, Iowa is the final resting place. The arrangements were under the care of the Gaudian Eldridge funeral home. Lillie C. Bode, the daughter of Fred and Sophie Steockmann Fiddelke, was born July 4, 1911, at Germantown, Iowa. She received her education at St. John's Lutheran school in Germantown. On Feb. 3, 1935, she was united in marriage to Otto Bode at Germantown. After their marriage, the couple settled on a farm outside of Gaza, Iowa, where they farmed until their retirement in 1972. Otto passed away on Sept. 4, 1982, in Omaha, Nebraska. Lillie continued to make her home on the farm until moving to Bellevue, Nebraska in October 1986. She passed away on Monday, January 18, 1988, at the Care Center in Bellevue, reaching pages 76 years, six months and 14 days. She was baptized on July 9, 1911, and later confirmed on March 1, 1925, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Germantown. She was currently a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Paullina. Up until her illness, she was an active member of the Paullina Senior Citizens. Lillie Leaves to cherish her memory her children, four daughters: Rhonda & Buck Coghlan of Cave Creek, Arizona, Carol and son-in-law Robert Lange of Bellevue, Nebraska, Sandra Boner of Phoenix, Arizona and Becky and son-in-law, James Poduska of Chelsea, IA; one son, Steven and daughter-in-law Jan Bode of Omaha, Nebraska; also 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three sisters: Sarah Mrs. Herman Axdahl of Sioux Rapids, Mrs. Esther Meyer of Mallard, Iowa, and Elsbeth Mrs. Lawrence Richter of Lime Springs, Iowa; one brother: Marvin Fiddelke of Calumet; also a host of other relatives and friends.
