Killing In Russell
Monday morning of last week, Elzy Bernard, who was a tenant on the farm of J.O. Prock, near Rowena, Russell County, had some trouble over work and a quarrel ensued, which resulted in Prock shooting and killing Bernard. We have failed to learn the particulars but we have been told by a Russell County citizen that Bernard was shot in the back. Prock went to Jamestown immediated after the killing and was permitted to give bond. Prock is known to quite a number of Columbians, he having been in school here years ago.
