Held for Murder

Mrs. Louella Bennett, who stabbed her husband, Walter Bennett, in Jeffersonville, Indiana last Sunday night week, has been indicted for murder in the first degree by a grand jury of Clark County, Indiana. She was brought before the County Judge and was held without bail and remanded to jail. Her trial is set for October 4th. Her husband was a native of Adair County, and his remains were sent here for burial. The interment took place at his old home last Wednesday.

He married Luella Worthington on Jun 26, 1920 in Indiana. She was the daughter of Charles Wethington and Bell Ross and born in Casey County on Mar 24, 1901. Their marriage license gives her maiden name as Worthington but I think it should be Wethington. She pleaded not guilty but was indicted for murder and her trial was to begin on Oct 4th. She said it was self-defense and that he had attacked her at other times. Verdict was found not guilty. I don't see anything of her after that.
