Actress. Georgia Caine received stardom as an American actress appearing on stage starting in 1899 and Hollywood films from 1930s to her last film being with James Cagney in the 1950 "Kiss Tomorrow Goodbye." Her last role was uncredited as were the ones in the two prior movies. She debuted on Broadway in 1899 starring in "A Reign of Error" after previous experience with Shakespearean stock companies. Both her parents, Jennie or Jane Darragh and George Caine, were also long-standing Shakespearean players. Her stage career started to fade with her last role in 1935 in "A Slight Case of Murder." At this point, the family left Queens, New York for California. Sources have her credited with 86 film roles, but she had 40 unnamed roles such as a party guest, the next door neighbor, the head nurse, or secretary, hence not listed on the credits. Some of her most memorable roles included Mme DeRosas in "The Count of Monte Cristo" in 1934, Mrs. Tuesmith in "Hail the Conquering Hero" in 1944, and Mrs. Waldron in "Give My Regards to Broadway" in 1948. In the early 1900s, she married an older man Albert B. Hudson, a real estate broker. Her husband died before 1940 as she is listed on documents as a widow.
