Donald Audette, 65, died on Wednesday, March 9, 2005 at Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls, MN.

Memorial Mass will be at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, March 14, 2005 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Red Lake Falls, MN with Father Tim Bushy presiding. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Red Lake Falls, MN.

Visitation will be one hour prior to services at St. Joseph on Monday.

Donald Walter Audette was born on October 29, 1939 in Red Lake County, Minnesota, the son of Walter and Simone (Asselin) Audette. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Dorothy's Catholic Church. He attended Louisville Township Rural School and the Northwest School of Agriculture, University of Minnesota, in Crookston, graduating in 1958.

Donald entered the United States Air Force on May 9, 1958 and was Honorably Discharged in 1962. He served in Tripoli, North Africa as a Hydraulic Technician.

Donald was united in marriage on July 17, 1965 to Phyllis Dorothy Stich at St. Dorothy's Catholic Church. He was promoted from Production Employee to Group Leader to Production Manager at Detroiter Mobile Homes from 1962 to 1972. Donald took various Management and Leadership courses. From 1972 to 1978 he moved his family to Golden Lake, Ontario, Canada to continue in the Mobile Home Business. They moved back to Red Lake Falls, where he was again employed as Production Manager at Homark. He also worked at I.C.S. at Grand Forks in carpentry and construction until his retirement in 2001.

Donald enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting, horseshoe pitching and golf. He also spent time as a Taxidermist. He was a member of the American Legion Post #22 and has been involved in Sportsman Club, Oak Knoll Golf Club, Commercial Club, Kiwanis Club and Red Lake Falls Ambulance Service.

He is survived by his wife, Phyllis of Red Lake Falls, MN; two sons: Jesse Donald Audette of Red Lake Falls, MN and Nick Philip Audette of West Palm Beach, FL; two daughters: Denelle (Daniel) Kees of East Grand Forks, MN and Staci (John) Schindler of Red Lake Falls, MN; six grandchildren: Ashley and Eric Kees, Holly, Nicole, and Matthew Schindler and Lindsay Cornia; and one sister, Jeanette (Eugene) Wavra of Red Lake Falls, MN.

He was preceded in death by his father, Walter Audette; his mother, Simone Asselin Audette; and one sister, Dolores Ricard.
