Ferguson, Ann
85, of Mesa, AZ, passed away at home with her 2 daughters by her side on 17 June. Ann was widowed at the age of 27 when the love of her life, Bill, was killed when his jet fighter crashed at Loring Air Force Base in Presque Isle, ME. A young widow with two little girls, she was a remarkable woman who never thought she was remarkable while she was builidng her house in Fraser Fields, starting and finishing college, getting her teaching degree, being a Girl Scout Leader, a Gray Lady and teaching Sunday School. It took her 7 years to get her degree because she wanted to be home when her daughters went off to school and home again when they returned. She began at ASC and finished when it was ASU. She said that was her plan-- to wait until it was a university. She was on the first faculty of Jefferson Elementary, and for 26 years she dedicated herself to the school and her students there. Ann is survived by daughters Barbara Davidson and Carol Ferguson, their husbands, Phil Davidson III and John Fahlgren, grandsons Philip IV, Sven Fahlgren and Brett Fahlgren and families. She will also be missed by her wonderful nieces, nephews, and the incredible friends and neighbors of her beloved Fraser Fields. She did not want any memorial services, and all agreed that services weren't necessary for her to be remembered always in our hearts and in our laughter. Donations can be sent to the New Mexico Christian Childrens' Home, 1356 NM 236, Portales, NM 88130-9983.
