Judge William Madison Griffin, the son of Soloman, 1836 - 1923, and Jalia T. Owens Griffin, married Matilda Jane Duncan, 1872 - 1958, on 7-16-1890 in Ozark County, Missouri. His siblings included: Emily J. Owens, 1858 - 1949; Sarah B. Hicks, 1862 - 1945; George S. Griffin, 1864 - 1944; James N. Griffin, 1869 - 1959; Mary A. Arnold, 1869 - 1948; and Celia B. Owens, 1872 - 1946. He was also an attorney certified by the Kentucky Bar, a contractor, and beloved father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather. I have been told he lost his life to a log-rolling accident which resulted in his chest being crushed. I have also been told that he was shot in the chest, and both accounts agreed that he lasted 3 days before dying from chest injury. (His wife, Matilda, told his granddaughter, Sunny, years later that he had been shot, so that is the account that I believe most.) His children included: Celia May (b 4-27-1891, d 4-20-1984), George Nelson (b 1-28-1893, d 1924), Willis Alfred (b 4-15-1895, d 1-7-1959), Lee Roy (b 6-29-1897, d 1980's), Floyd (b 2-27-1900, d 5-29-1984), Myrtle Alice (b 3-9-1902, d 1-4-1961), Ida Kate (b 7-1-1904, d 1915), Hayden Opal (b 10-30-1907, d 4-15-1975), Hollis (b 4-11-1909, d 12-29-1980), Johnny Monkey (b 4-11-1913, d 2-15-1991), and Wilma Sylvia (b 11-21-1917, d 10-24-2015).

LIFE: 71 Years, 3 Months, 21 Days.
