Clara E. Lear, 87, formerly of Easton, died Thursday, March 11 in Gracedale, the Northampton County home.

She was a presser for the former Easton Laundry in Easton, retiring in 1957.

Born May 30, 1905, in Phillipsburg, she was the daughter of the late Lewis and Jennie Gellock.

Her husband John N. died in 1961.

During the course of my genealogy research I not only confirmed my German heritage, which was told to me as a child, but discovered I also have Native American ancestry. Both my paternal grandparents were Lenape descendants, making me one also.

I've yet to pinpoint the full blooded Native American ancestor on either of their branches.
