Laura A. Lear, 69, of 360 W. St. Joseph's St. died at 1:30 a.m. today at her residence. She was the widow of Sylvester Lear and had been in failing health for some time.

Born in Phillipsburg, she had made her home in Easton and vicinity nearly all her life. Her parents were the late John and Margaret Clawson Margeson. Mrs. Lear was of the Lutheran faith.
________________________________

She remarried twice after the death of her dearly beloved first husband Sylvester Lear.

She and Sylvester Lear married July 4, 1894 in Lopatcong Twp., Warren Co. NJ

She and Samuel Miller married Nov. 7, 1914 in Phillipsburg, Warren Co. NJ

She and Andrew Gallagher married Oct. 31, 1920 in Alpha, Warren Co. NJ

She continued using the Lear name in between and after both marriages. And is still mentioned as the widow of Sylvester Lear, 40 years after his death.

Laura and first husband Sylvester Lear moved to CA sometime in 1903. They resided in the Vallejo/Napa area and were in CA for the 1906 Earthquake. My grandfather, John Nelson Lear was born in Vallejo, which was part of Napa Co. at that time, on Dec. 15, 1904. On Feb. 13, 1906, only two months before the earthquake, a son Elwin Lear was born in Napa. Laura was about two months pregnant with their eighth child when Sylvester died in Oct. 1908.
