David Horr was a Deputy Sheriff for the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department in California. He worked for the Police Force for 3 years, dying in the line of duty at age 34. He died 2 months after the incident took place. He was responding to a disturbance call. He got no response at the front door, so went to the back door. When he knocked, identifying himself, a man shot him from inside the home with a 16-gauge shotgun. He was transported to the hospital with wounds to his hand and stomach. The suspect was apprehended a short time later. Deputy Horr was assigned to the Montrose Station.
