AL CHAMNESS DEAD
News was received in Emporia Tuesday of the death of Al Chamness, 88, at West Branch, Iowa, Sunday. Funeral and burial services for Mr. Chamness will be held at West Branch Wednesday morning. Mr. Chamness was one of Lyon County's oldest native citizens. He was born in the Chamness community southwest of Emporia December 27, 1859. Until recently Mr. Chamness worked as a private surveyor and maintained his headquarters at the Emporia Civic Auditorium. Failing in health, he left last month for Iowa to live with relatives.
