He was the beloved son of Tyrone and Felicia Sanders; brother of Shirrene Goss (Andre'), Maynard Terry and Emerick Sanders. He was a 2014 Allen University graduate in Business Administration. After graduation, he returned to his native Charleston and worked at Smitty's Super Seven Barber in Charleston. He was a member of the National Association of Black Accountants, the National Black MBA Association and was in the process of publishing his own book of poetry and was an aspiring rapper.


A wake was held from 7 to 8 PM on Friday, June 26, 2015 at Mother Emanuel AME Church, Charleston, SC. Funeral Services were held at 2 PM on Saturday, June 27, 2015 at Mother Emanuel AME Church.


On his Instagram account, Sanders called himself a poet, artist and businessman. His photos were filled with friends, smiles, family members and motivational quotes.


Hours before the shooting, he put up his final post, a meme with a quote from Jackie Robinson: "A life is not important except in the impact it has on other lives."


NOTE: He was killed during the mass shooting at Bible Study session at Mother Emanuel AME Church, 110 Calhoun Street, Charleston, SC. It happened during a prayer meeting being held at the church on Wednesday night, June 17, 2015 approximately 9 PM. He was 26 years old, the youngest victim.
