Born Oct. 7, 1914, in Nimitz, he was the son of the late Alfred Adolphus and Mary Nellie Fitzpatrick Harvey.
Mr. Harvey was a retired engineer for C&O Railroad and a member of the United Transportation Union. He was an Army veteran of World War II, having served in the 82nd Airborne Division.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Alpha Daniel and Donald A. Harvey.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Loretta Lilly Harvey; three sons, Arvel Phillip and Stephen Thomas Harvey and Elizabeth Ann, all of Nimitz, and Douglas M. Harvey of Bainbridge, GA.; two daughters, Phyllis A. Harvey of Nimitz and Regina S. Boston of Hurricane; two brothers, Lloyd Harvey and his wife, Jean, of Nimitz and Clifford Harvey and his wife, Anna Marie, of Hinton; three sisters, Elsie Brandon and Myrtle Harvey Adkins, both of Hinton, and Martha Headington and her husband, Richard, of Clare, Mich.; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Donald (Alma) Harvey; and four grandchildren, Cynthia and Aaron Boston, Roman Harvey, and Dakota Harvey.
Services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, February 15th. at Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel, Hinton, with Pastor Darrell Hamm officiating. Burial followed in Crews Cemetery, Nimitz.
