US Marine Cpl Robert Edward Caldwell, Vietnam Veteran, Native of Charlotte, NC.

US Marine Corporal Robert Edward Caldwell was a casualty of the Vietnam War. As a member of the Marine Corps, CPL Caldwell served our country until February 28th, 1968 in Quang Tri, South Vietnam. He was 20 years old and was not married. Robert died when his helicopter crashed. His body was recovered. CPL Caldwell is on panel 41E, line 060 of the Vietnam Memorial Wall in Washington D.C. He served our country for one year.

He was the son of Mr Charles W Caldwell and Mrs Lucille Black Caldwell, 1418 Coker Avenue, Charlotte, NC.

He served with Headquarters and Services Company, 3rd Battalion, 26th Marines, 1st Marine Division, 3rd MAF.

He was awarded The Combat Action Ribbon(CAR), The Purple Heart Medal for his combat related wounds, The Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Service Medal and The National Defense Service Medal.
