Born to the late William H. and Ida (Savard) Parkinson.
Mrs. Harkin had worked as a nurse's aide for various nursing homes on Aquidneck Island for many years before her retirement. She was a former member of the Green Valley Country Club and the Fall River Country Club. Mrs. Harkin was an avid gardener.
She is survived by two sons Michael D. Abdallah of Pocassett, MA, and Timothy R. Harkin Sr. and his wife Robin of Portsmouth, RI, two daughters Wendy S. Harkin of Ayer, MA, and Robyn Andrade of Middletown, RI, a brother William Parkinson Jr. of Lamoine, ME, three sisters Muriel Myers of Laguna, CA, Ethel Paiva of Somerset, MA, and Nancy Chaky of Myrtle Beach, SC, ten grandchildren Wade Harkin, Jennifer Walker, Heather Jakola, Angela Abdallah, Madison Burges, Kasey Harkin, Jared Andrade, Nick Andrade, Ashlie Harkin, and Timothy R. Harkin Jr., and seven great grandchildren Zackery Walker, Alex Walker, Kyle Jakola, Logan Walker, Kaleb Jakola, Lezlie Walker, and Trinity Jakola, her best friend Edith Willis of Little Compton, RI, and several nieces and nephews.
She was also the mother of the late Jay Abdallah and the sister of the late Dorothy Verville and Ruth Lombardi.
