The Wellington Leader March 18 1943

Mrs. Laura Alexander, 81, died at her home in Wellington at 12:45 a.am. Saturday, March 13. Her death followed an illness of approximately three years.

Mrs. Alexander was a native Texan, having been born July 4, 1861 at Lockhart, in Caldwell County. She was the daughter of Reuben and Mary Jane Blodgett Crow. She had made her home in Wellington for the last 18 years. Mrs. Alexander was a devout member of the Methodist Church.

Mrs. Alexander is survived by two daughters: Mrs. Irene Kennedy and Mrs. Eula May Douthit of Wellington; two step-sons: Julius E. Alexander of Kileen and John W. Alexander of Blum; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Surviving brothers and sisters are: William E. Spurlin of Moffett, Rev. I. J. Spurlin of Mason, Charles H. Spurlin of Rule, George E. Spurlin of Dallas, and Mrs. W. B. Billingsley of Wichita Falls.
