Laura and her twin sister Lisette (#78937742) were the daughters of Sophia Greve and an unknown father. Sometime about 1849 the family immigrated to the United States and they settled in Cincinnati, Ohio. In 1858 she married her first husband Frederick Brandt and they had two children, Matilda and Elizabeth. Frederick was killed in battle during the Civil War in 1864. Three year later, in 1867, she married Michael Straub and they had two children, Charles and Sophia. Laura died of arotic stenosis at the age of 75.
