Henry was the son of Gottfriedt Leopold Greve and Louisa Wolff. He was the brother of Frederica (#55046420) and Sophia (#73928987). Prior to 1857 he immigrated to the US and settled in Louisville, Kentucky. His wife's name was Marie Funston and they had one daughter, Emma. It is believed that Henry was part owner of the old Greve, Buhrlage & Co. furniture company although it is not known at present what his exact role was. The company was founded in 1853 so it is possible that he had immigrated as early as that. Henry died of enteritis.
