He was a carpenter by trade. He was married to Harriett Melissa Wheeler by whom he had nine children: Albert, Isaac, Fulton, Alford, Marion, Warren, Walter, Minnie and Pearl.
His second wife was Pensy Elizabeth Carmack Shores by whom he had a daughter, Edith Lillian.

He was my husband's great grandfather.

J. O. Bryson, 83, died Thursday morning at 9 o'clock at the the home of a son, A. F. Bryson in Stratford. Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at the Baptist church in Asher, Rev. Elsey officiating. Burial in Wanette cemetery, Criswell Funeral Home in charge.
Mr. Byrson leaves a daughter, Miss Pearl Bryson, and four sons, A. F. Bryson, W. B. Bryson, W. J. Bryson and A. C. Bryson.
