From Mike Goodwin regarding the old gas station: "After pulling the fuel tanks for Nancy and Bob Steele it was determined their was a fuel release resulting in contamination of soil and water. My wife and I bought the property and cleaned up the contamination obtaining clearance from San Diego Health and California State Water board. The County would like to see the building demolished but I just can't. I also have a history with the property going back to the late 69's working repairs on the place for Nancy's dad."
