LAYTON – Douglas Jay Adams, 73, passed away Sunday, October 24, 2010 at Rocky Mountain Care Center in Clearfield.

He was born December 31, 1936 in Ogden, Utah, to Norris George and Bessie Leah Beus Adams.

He was a veteran, serving in the Army during the Korean Conflict.

He married Beverly Kay Simpson on June 21, 1957 in Logan, UT, and they were later divorced. He then married Sandra Kay Booth on February 28, 1971 in North Las Vegas, NV.

Douglas lived in Clinton and North Ogden, UT, also Las Vegas and Sparks, NV; Borrego Springs and San Diego, CA.

He graduated from Davis High School.

He was a member of the LDS Church. He loved model ships, painting, family, sports (Chargers), early rock 'n roll, Elvis, Neil Diamond, Johnny Cash and John Stewart.

Surviving is his wife, Sandra Kay, of Layton; children: Bradley Jay (Judy) Adams, of Syracuse, Craig Lynn (Pam) Adams, of Clinton, Sandra (Bill) Boynton, of Layton, Mark Allen (LeeAnne) Adams, of Syracuse, Scott Michael (Jennifer) Adams, of Castle Rock, CO, and Marcy (Lance) Craythorn, of Stevensville, MT; brothers: N. Dean (Helene) Adams, of Chicago, IL; Blair Jay Adams, of Mesquite, NV, and Neil W. Adams, of Layton, UT; 24 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Roger Lee Adams and Clark D. Adams; and sister-in-law, Shirley.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 28, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Myers Roy Mortuary, 5865 South 1900 West. Family and friends may call on Wednesday at the mortuary from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services.

Interment, Clinton City Cemetery.
