James Barnes was born in Kentucky on February 12, 1838, the son of Benjamin Barnes and Rebecca Larison, who were also born in Kentucky. James, white, married, occupation farmer, died at the age of 76 on February 6, 1915 at Middlefork Twp., Worth County, Missouri. The cause of death was carcinoma of the stomach which had a duration of 1 year and 2 months. The informant was B. F. Barnes of Worth, Missouri. Burial was at Barnes Cemetery on February the 8th.
