Sarah was born to William David Bridges and Rachel Dunn in Kansas. Her family returned to Sebastian County, Arkansas while she was a small child.
In 1883 she married Alfer John Mosby, with whom she had a son and a daughter. Her husband and her son died in the late 1880s, possibly at the same time.
In 1890 she married William Jesse Crawford with whom she moved west into Indian Territory. They had two daughters and lived first in Haskell County, later moving to the area of Clayton in Pushmataha County.
