Private memorial services for Carl Oscar Johnson, 76, San Antonio, relative of Tyler residents, will be held Saturday in Tyler.

Mr. Johnson died Dec.21 in San Antonio.

He was born July 8, 1924, in Providence, Rhode Island, and served in the Armed Fores during World War II. He lived in the Chicago area before moving to South Texas in 1965. He was a homebuilder and active in missionary work in Mexico and Central America. After retiring he lived in California, Wisconsin, and Texas. He was preceded in death by sister, Esther, and brother, Harry.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Karin Ingrid Johnson, San Antonio; sons, Bruce Johnson, Houston, Dwight Johnson, San Antonio, Greg Johnson, New Braunfels, and Jeff Johnson, Athens; daughters, Karin Baxter, Washington Island, Wisconsin; brothers, Paul Johnson, Mission, David Johnson, Tyler, Bill Johnson, San Juan; sisters, Ruth Erickson, and Judy Pantzar, both of Tyler; and 12 grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to church missionary fund of choice.
