Funeral Services for Mrs. Hubert Ward Held Tuesday at Lacy

Funeral services for Mrs. Hubert Ward who passed away in Enid Saturday, Feb. 6, were held at the Lacy Methodist church Tuesday morning, with Rev. Paul E. Osman, of Hennessey, officiating. Interment was made in the Cimarron Valley cemetery under direction of Cordry & Sons of Hennessey.

Mrs. Ward, a resident of Hennessey community for many years, was born at Keokuk, Iowa, June 1, 1876, the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. William Welch. She was a girl when the family moved to Goodland, Kans. At the age of 16 she was married to John Beebe. Five sones and five daughters were born to them. One daughter, Elsie, and a step-daughter, Bessie, preceded Mrs. Ward in death. Her husband, John Beebe, died May 30, 1933.

Three years after the death of her husband, April 6, 1936, she was married to Hubert Ward.

In early childhood, she united with the Church of the Brethren, and remained faithful to that connection until her death. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother. She leaves to mourn her passing her husband, Hubert Ward, of Enid, and nine children.

Many relatives and old friends attended the funeral and were dinner guests at the Edwards home: Mrs. Alta Baker, Mr. Ralph Baker, Mrs. and Mrs. Arnold Griffin and children, Mr. and Mrs. Guy Baker, Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Baker, Mr. and Mrs. Dale Rice and daughters, Myrtle Jantz, Mae Jared and John, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Baker, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Wehlage and son, and Mr. and Mrs. Junior Baker.
